So, as much as I have criticized the look of Ugg boots, let me just say that I really want these for Xmas.  In black of course.  If I have to commute to work in the winter on the bus and T, I'm going to need a pair of sturdy, comfy, warm winter boots.  And these are as fricken cute as a few week old puppy.

So I was supposed to go on an interview tomorrow, (more like 11:30am this afternoon) at a non-profit homeless shelter in a not-so-good part of Roxbury, MA.  I feel bad for backing out of the interview, but it's feels like a sketchy situation, and I'm not comfortable walking around in that part of town, especially since I don't really know the area.  I also will/may come in contact with a lot of the homeless/battered/needy people who come to the shelter, and that honestly kind of freaks me out a little.  I hope it doesn't make me sound like a bad person, it's just out of my comfort zone.  I feel shitty enough for backing out on the interview, but I was called about it yesterday (monday), and I didn't have much time to prepare, and looking at maps of the area, I'll have to cross under the highway, and travel down busy streets, it's just not the part of Boston I was looking to work in.  Plus I just read an article about someone getting shot in Roxbury, and once the cold weather comes, it's going to get darker later, anddd I'm not comfortable working in that situation/area.

Annd apparently, my parents are still planning on moving.  They showed the house twice this weekend, and one couple apparently needs to move out of thier house asap.  They're planning on going up to the No'Sho' this week to look at houses too.  So I'm kind of frustrated because my dad just said that he wanted my mom to take the house off the market, and we pretty much stopped looking at houses, and all of a sudden we're back to square one, the house is back up, and we're looking to move.

On a lighter note, I applied for a job in Quincy, maybe 20 min from my house at 2K Boston (they've a video game company, the one who just released Bioshock), as a personal assistant for the head of the company.  Phil works there, and he told me about the job, and that it might be something I'm interested in.  I sent my resume in, and they want to talk to me towards the end of this week.  I'm super excited, because it's close to home, and it seems like a lot of fun, while also being really stressful and busy.  Plus yiayia and nona said if my parents move, I can move in with them, so I won't be far away from friends, and I can get some money together to get an apartment.  So keep your fingers crossed for this personal ass't job.  Good money, and close to friends... travel maybe? Sounds PERFECT.
